Securly Chromebook Monitoring
Securly Chromebook Monitoring
Cook County School District 130 partners with Securly to help provide a safe and secure online learning environment for our students. Securly filters inappropriate websites on student Chromebooks and provides notifications related to signs of student bullying, self-harm, and other concerning content. During the school day, Cook County School District 130 building administrators monitor and respond to these notifications.
As of the 2026–2027 school year, parents and guardians will receive Securly notifications directly. The District does not monitor or respond to Securly notifications outside of normal school business hours (8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.) or when students are not in session. Parents/guardians are solely responsible for reviewing and responding to any Securly notifications received during evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks. School staff will follow up on notifications the next day students are in session.
For detailed information about student online activity, parents and guardians can access the Securly Home app on Google Play or the iOS App Store. The app allows parents and guardians to:
- View their child's activity on their school-issued device in real time.
- Control internet access on the Chromebook when their child is at home.
We encourage families to take advantage of this free resource to stay informed and engaged in their child's digital learning experience.
For more information about the Securly Home App, please visit their website or email questions to homesupport@securly.com.
