Board of Education Contact Information

Communications to and from the Board of Education

The Board of Education values communication with staff, parents/guardians, students, and community members. Individuals may submit questions or communications for the Board’s consideration by contacting the Superintendent or using the Board email address provided on the District website.
If contacted individually, Board members will refer the individual to the appropriate level of authority, except in unusual situations. All questions or communications from Board members to staff or about programs will be directed through the Superintendent’s office. Board members do not take individual action that may compromise the Board or the District. Please note that communications sent to the Board—whether by letter, email, or other means—are not considered private.

Public Suggestions and Concerns

The Board welcomes suggestions and concerns from members of the school community. Individuals may share feedback by contacting any school or District office. Emails to the District, its employees, or Board members should adhere to standards outlined in Board Policy 6:235, Access to Electronic Networks, and be directed only to relevant individuals when possible. All suggestions and concerns will be referred to the appropriate staff member or administrator best positioned to respond. Each concern or suggestion is reviewed on its individual merit.

Public Participation at Board Meetings

The Board encourages public participation during its regular and special open meetings. Comments and questions are welcome and will be received in accordance with the following guidelines to ensure a productive and respectful environment. Public comments are generally addressed through Board Policy 3:30, Chain of Command.
Anyone wishing to address the Board is expected to follow these guidelines:

  • Speak only at the designated time on the meeting agenda and when recognized by the Board President.

  • Use a sign-in sheet if requested.

  • Identify yourself and be brief. Remarks are typically limited to three minutes per speaker. Longer remarks may be permitted at the discretion of the Board President. If multiple speakers wish to address the same topic, a spokesperson is encouraged.

  • The Board President may:
    a. Shorten the time allowed per speaker to ensure everyone has a chance to participate.
    b. Decide on other procedural matters not addressed in Board policy.

  • Conduct must be respectful and in accordance with Board Policy 8:30, Visitors to and Conduct on School Property.
