Cook County School District 130

The district subscribes to the “I Love U Guys” Standard Response Protocol to provide consistent and clear actions to take in the event of an incident. Please take a few minutes every week to review these actions with your children to help eliminate any uncertainty should the need arise:

HOLD – Clear the hallways and remain in the room or area until “All Clear” is given. 

SECURE – Return to the inside of the building. 

LOCKDOWN – Move away from sight. Maintain silence. Do not open the door. 

EVACUATE – Leave belongings behind. If possible, bring your phone. Follow instructions.

SHELTER – Use the appropriate safety strategy for the hazard:

Hazard - Strategy

Tornado - Evacuate to shelter area

Hazmat - Seal the room

Earthquake - Drop, cover and hold

Flood - Get to high ground
