Spooky Fun!

1st Quarter PBIS Celebration a big hit…

On Wednesday, October 31st, the students attended a very spooky celebration in honor of safe, respectful, and responsible behavior.  The fun started at lunch where 7 children in each grade won raffle prizes for completing and submitting completed Cougar  Cards.  The prizes included CD players, gift cards to Beggars Pizza, and Halloween treats.  In the afternoon, the celebrations continued in the cafeteria with a PBIS Party.  Students competed in a school-wide costume contest, a fall mural painting contest, Bozo buckets, Gross Anatomy (a science activity), and a math guestimation activity.  There was also music and dancing, snacks, and teachers volunteered to take the students on a very spooky tour of Kerr Middle School.  Once again, KMS is dedicated to promoting positive behavior!
Market Day     We need your help…

Market Day is our school’s food fundraising program.  So far this year we have earned $315.35 for our school.  If you would like to order some delicious food, there is still time this month.  Go to www.marketday.com by noon on Saturday, Nov. 13th to place your order.  Pick-up will be Wed., Nov. 7th 2:30-4pm in the KMS Cafeteria. We always need volunteers to help on pick-up days.  Call school at 385-5959 if you would like to help!

Parent-Teacher Conferences     November 8th & 9th

Conferences will be held on Nov. 8th from 5-8 pm as well as Nov. 9th during the regular school hours.  If you still do not have a scheduled conference time, contact Mrs. Hock if your child is in 6th grade,  or Ms. Kikta if your child is in 7th or 8th grade.

Sleep…     Is you child getting enough?

Studies show a direct relation between the amount of sleep children get and their ability to learn in school.  In addition, pre-teens, far from needing less sleep, actually needed as much or more sleep than they had gotten as children.  Nine hours of sleep is recommended.  Is your child sleeping enough?

Coffee with the Principals   Meet the Principals & Share your Thoughts

Come on in for coffee and rolls at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6th.  Meet with Mr. Gmazel and Ms. Vacca to share ideas and have your questions answered regarding Kerr Middle School.  We are still looking for more parents to get involved at KMS!
