National Junior Honor

Description:  Kerr Middle School’s N.J.H.S.  is a chartered extension of the nationally recognized National Honor Society.  Seventh and eighth grade students are inducted into the KMS chapter of National Junior Honor Society in February based upon their academic achievements which require the students to maintain a 3.5 grade point average for 5 consecutive quarters.  Additionally the qualities of character and service are considered.

NJHS is essentially a service organization, providing service in the following areas:

Assisting Mr. Gmazel & Ms. Vacca with school activities

Assisting with 5th grade student orientation

 Guides and child care for various KMS activities

Peer tutoring

Weekly Recycling

Boo gram Sale

Fall Landscaping around the school

Can food drive

Holiday visit to the Blue Island Nursing providing Holiday entertainment and a Poinsettia plant for each resident

Holiday party at Beggar’s pizza

Valentines for U. S. veterans

Bunny Gram Sale
