Summer Reading Program
Welcome to the 2015 Summer Reading Program!
Experts agree that children who read during the summer months keep their reading skills sharp and are better prepared for the challenges of the next grade level. With this in mind, Cook County School District 130 has partnered with Scholastic to provide every student with a summer reading pack and activity sheets. Parents are encouraged to use these packs to help children build their comprehension, vocabulary and critical thinking skills.
In addition to the books and activity sheets, be sure to check out the Scholastic Summer Challenge website at www.scholastic.com/summer for free summer reading resources, including games, message boards, book logs, a book trivia Web cast, and information about reading for the world record.
