I am so very excited to begin this academic school year with all of our parents, students and staff. As the new principal of Whittier Intermediate School, I come with 12 years of experience in District 130 moving from being a classroom teacher to assistant principal and now, for a second year, as a school principal. I am honored and humbled by this opportunity to serve you and your children at Whittier and am completely committed to ensuring that we provide the best possible educational experience for every student that enters our school doors.
I truly believe this year will prove to be a pivotal year for Whittier Intermediate School. Although we are in the Restructuring Phase of No Child Left Behind (NCLB), we are also at a great place for auditing the way we have been doing things and making the necessary changes needed to provide more, increased support to all of our students. Our entire staff is committed to move forward with a positive perspective on the outcome of our restructuring plan and we are all ready to work with our families and stakeholders as a unified team with a unified goal.
Because Whittier Intermediate School is an amazing school, I sincerely believe that if we all work together with a very focused plan, we will become one of the most successful schools in the district! This means that parent participation and commitment, serve as key pieces to having a successful school. We will need parental involvement during and after the school day and one of the ways we will do this is by growing our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). We welcome you to be a part of this growth because we realize that partnership is absolutely necessary for our success.
I look forward to working with everyone and celebrating every step we take as we move closer to continued success!
