Principal's Message

Theresa Gonzalez-Silva
Hello parents, and welcome to the 2012-2013 school year!
When you visit Paul Revere Primary, you will notice that it is filled with smiles on the faces of students and staff! We are energized to begin the new school year, and continue implementing and enhancing the following components of our instructional program. We’re excited to see the learning unfold!
Daily PE (Implementation Year 2): Our students increase their movement and agility with physical education for 30 minutes every day! The children focus on their flexibility, endurance, and strength while developing healthy life-long habits.
RtI (Response to Intervention): As a result of the implementation of Daily PE, the classroom teachers have an opportunity to enhance student learning with research-based literacy and/or mathematics interventions.
Core Reading Curriculum: In the summer of 2011, the District 130 Board of Education adopted the reading series Treasures by MacMillan/McGraw Hill. Teachers receive ongoing professional development from our Literacy Coach, and the children have demonstrated excellent growth in their reading abilities!
1000 Sight Word Challenge: Fluency is one of the five crucial elements of reading. Fluent readers have speed and automaticity, and the 1000 Sight Word Challenge is one way for parents to support and build their child’s reading success.
SEL (Social Emotional Learning): Parents are the first role models and educators of their children. The entire Paul Revere Primary staff employs best practices in SEL instruction including: creating safe, caring, supportive learning environments, and integrating SEL concepts into the core curriculum.
Guests are always welcome to stop by and visit any time. Be sure to sign the visitor log in the main office, and bring your photo ID. We look forward to meeting you!
When home and school work together, good things happen for children.
