Program Offerings
Our children, staff, and community put reading first! Our instructional philosophy promotes and develops each child’s literacy skills: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Students receive small group and individual instruction in guided reading and literacy work stations.
Teachers meet frequently to discuss and implement researched based strategies in reading. In addition, the Literacy Team (Reading Recovery and Primary Literacy) join the classroom teachers with modeling best practices, collecting and analyzing student data, conducting professional development sessions, and servicing the children that need additional support in reading.
