We have started our new school year with renewed enthusiasm and dedication. It is great to have our building, once again, full of students proudly wearing their uniforms and showing their willingness to learn. The staff of Lincoln School, after a well deserved summer break, is ready to work with each child to help them learn and achieve. We want to thank all the parents who have already joined us for the kindergarten orientation sessions and our back to school nights. They provided a great introduction to what we expect to be a very successful year for all students.
I want to invite invite parents to join us for the PTO activities during the year. We will have monthly PTO meetings. Please consult your Know your Schools calendar for the meeting dates. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 13th. The PTO will be selecting the officers for this year during the meeting. All parents are invited to come visit the school for PTO meetings.
During the month of September we will be administering two important tests that our students need to take. Students will be taking the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP). MAP is the test all children are taking three times a year. MAP helps us to assess student progress in reading and math and to identify areas in which students need additional support. We will also administer the AIMSweb test to some of our students.
I want to encourage all parents to contact your child’s teacher during the year. We want to work together with you. Please feel free to call, stop by or email if you have any questions or concerns. Go dragons!
