Principal's Message

Dear E. F. Kerr Community,
While January sees the beginning of the New Year, many of us also regard it as the true beginning of the long, hard winter. In this sense it is apt that the theme for January is COURAGE. This month at E.F. Kerr Middle School we will demonstrate our courage through kindness and by helping and standing up for others.
We are truly thankful at E. F. Kerr Middle School for our community. We have many parents and staff who generously give copious hours to provide the children with guidance and a ready ear. Their gentle presence gives life to our "New" traditions here at Kerr and is truly appreciated by all.
Our students rise to the very high expectations set by the teachers, staff and families. We thank you for sharing your children with us each and every day. It’s a joy to see how happy the children are in their classes. It is a testament to the dedication of our staff and the community.
At this time I would like to ask you to help us get our students reading. Moms and Dads, it is important that your kids see you reading. The best role models are in the home: brothers, fathers, mothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Let’s face it, most of us don’t realize it, but we have great influence on our children by the examples we set. Get reading: books, newspapers magazines, cook books, etc are some great choices. We need you to show the way. Be a great role models, and help us in this noble goal.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this effort to help all of our students become better readers in every aspect of their lives.
