Early Childhood / Pre-K Program
Dear Families:
Welcome to our schools! Whether your child will be attending Horace Mann or Hale Primary Prekindergarten we are excited to work with you and your child. I am honored to be the Principal of our Prekindergarten, Early Childhood and Birth to Three Programs.
The curriculum that we use in our Prekindergarten and Early Childhood Classrooms is called the "Creative Curriculum." The goal of our program is to develop each child’s important preacademic readiness skills that are needed for success in kindergarten. Our curriculum addresses social/emotional, language, problem solving and physical development. These four areas are closely related and often overlap. Your child will be learning the important school expectations of BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE and BE SAFE. Our students are assessed three times per year using Work Sampling Illinois. Please plan to participate in Parent/Teacher Conferences and Friday activities that are planned by your child’s teacher.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime during the school year if you have questions or thoughts you would like to share. Thank you for your partnership as we work together to support your child’s education!
Sincerely,
Carol Crum
